Marriage and Wedding Questions and Answers
How do I get married at SHEPHERD of the HILLS?
If you're reading this, maybe we should say... Congratulations on your engagement!
We believe that the good news of God's grace in Jesus changes lives now and forever. And we know that a Christian marriage is one place where that grace can be lived out.
We want you to have a beautiful wedding, but even more, we want you to have a beautiful marriage. Here's the process we've laid out to help you plan for a wonderful wedding and a healthy Christian marriage.
Stop by the church to pick up a wedding packet, fill out the necessary reservation forms, and pay your intial wedding fees. Please contact our Office Administrator, Jean Johnson for help with this process. She can be reached at 651.288.2252 or email email@example.com
We will arrange for you to meet with one of our wedding coordinators that will meet with you and walk with you both through your wedding journey.
Participate in an LSS (Lutheran Social Services) Marriage Prep Workshop. They are offered monthly (sometimes twice a month) and cover a wide range of topics important to a healthy marriage. You can register online or for more information call them directly at 1.888.881.8261.
Make an appointment to meet with Pastor Renee. You will be meeting with her 3-4 times throughout your wedding journey.
Finalize the details of your wedding service with your wedding coordinator and pay in full the appropriate fees.
Again, we love Christian weddings and take yours very seriously. We count it a priviledge to be involved in your lives at this wonderful time. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
How many people does your sanctuary seat?
Approximately 300 people.
Do you allow guest musicians?
We have a list of wonderful people who can sing or play music for your wedding. If you have a guest soloist or musician who you would like to play at your wedding, it would require a conversation with our music staff.
Do you allow receptions at your church?
Shepherd's Hall is usually available for wedding receptions. If you wish to use the facilities for your reception, you should request this when you reserve the day for your wedding. Our fellowship space can seat approximately 200 people. We do enforce a no alcohol policy both in the hall and on the grounds.
