FMSC was founded as a Christian nonprofit in 1987 through the efforts of a Minnesota businessman who felt called by God to help feed starving children of the world during a humanitarian visit to Honduras. Our youth and small groups regularly participate. Contact the office to find out when the next visit has been scheduled. You can also find out more about FMSC here.
Through the St. Paul Area Synod, Shepherd of the Hills has the opportunity to partner Bega Kwa Bega ("Shoulder to Shoulder") with the Kidamali congregation in Iringa, Tanzania and support their ministry. As God works in this congregation, ministry needs continue to grow. You can find out more about the work being done through this ministry and how to get involved here.
The Ralph Reeder Food Shelf is a community program of the Mounds View School District. It serves residents in our school district - our friends and neighbors - who are having difficulty putting food on their table. This could be the neighbor who is out of work, the elderly person whose prescription bills sometimes eat into her grocery money, or your child's school buddy whose single parent struggles to make ends meet. It relies heavily on food and cash donations from community organizations such as Shepherd of the Hills. You can find out more about the food shelf and where to drop off food or volunteer here.
