Electronic Giving Solutions
Shepherd now offers two convenient electronic giving options for making donations - Simply Giving® and Online Giving via Shepherd's Web site. Both are designed to help you conveniently, consistently and joyfully give financial gifts to Shepherd. You choose the donation frequency (weekly, semi-monthly or monthly) and the donation amount for each fund you wish to support.

It's fast, safe and easy! In fact, it is less risky than checks, as it cannot be lost, stolen or destroyed. Thrivent Financial pays all fees associated with these programs, so Shepherd receives 100 percent of your gift. Shepherd will issue you a contribution statement for your tax records, and your bank statements will provide you with a record of transfer as additional proof of your contributions.

Of course you can cancel your authorization of transfer at any time by notifying us in writing.

If you would like more information on any of these programs, please contact Gayle Anderson in the church office or click on the program that you are interested in.

Online Giving/Preschool Tuition Payments
Now making recurring contributions, paying your child's preschool tuition, or making a onetime donation is easy! Just click on the link above to access the secure Web payment page. A confirmation page will be available for printing once payment has been submitted.

Simply Giving®
To sign up for this giving option and begin having your donations transferred electronically from your checking or savings account on a regular basis, click the link above. Then return your completed authorization form to the church office.

Stock Donations
One way Shepherd's mission has been blessed is by generous gifts of stock. The great thing about giving to Shepherd this way is that there are no capital gains taxes on the stock's appreciated value, and the person can deduct the full amount on their itemized tax form.Click the link above for a Stock Donation Form.

IRA Charitable Rollovers
If you are over age 70½, you can avoid paying taxes on your IRA distributions by donating directly to Shepherd of the Hills or your favorite charity!

The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 extended the portion of the Pension Protection Act of 2006 that allowed special tax treatment for individuals who donated directly from an IRA to a qualified charity. If at least six months have passed since your 70th birthday, you can ask your IRA custodian to pay up to $100,000 in 2008 and then again in 2009 directly to qualified charities.

To make a qualified charitable rollover to Shepherd of the Hills, you should contact your IRA custodian. To qualify for a charitable distribution, your IRA custodian must directly transfer the funds to Shepherd rather than a withdrawal by you for later gifting. Otherwise, the IRA withdrawal will be taxed if you receive it. Please contact Gayle Anderson in the church office for account information. Acknowledgement of your gift will appear on your contribution statement.
